      Please note

As this tour might take place during the unique Khareef season in Salalah (June - early September), the region’s lush landscapes and cooler climate offer a truly special experience. But they also come with rapidly changing weather conditions that may require adjustment of parts of the program for safety reasons — as the well-being of our guests is always our top priority.

That said, there is a unique beauty in this unpredictability. Often, it leads to unexpected moments, spontaneous discoveries, and authentic experiences that can make the journey even more memorable. We invite all guests to embrace these changes with an open mind and heart, as they are very much a part of the adventure.

Please review the points below and prepare accordingly.

        Khareef Season Weather

        • Expect cool and misty conditions—unusual for the rest of the Gulf region at this time of year.
        • Temperatures are generally pleasant but may vary significantly throughout the day.
        • Sudden rain showers can occur with little warning, creating stunning waterfalls in unexpected locations – but also blocking roads, trails and wadis.

        Road and Trail Conditions

        • Roads in mountainous and rural areas can become slippery or muddy.
        • Certain hiking paths or waterfalls may be inaccessible due to flooding or safety concerns.
        • Delays and last-minute program changes are possible due to weather or road conditions.

        Clothing and Footwear

        • Weatherproof and layered clothing is essential (e.g. a light rain jacket, breathable layers).
        • Good walking shoes with grip or light hiking boots are strongly recommended.
        • An extra change of clothes and a small towel may be useful for waterfall visits or swimming – or if you want to you put yourself on top of the Mughsail Blowholes to experience the raw power of nature.
        • While wearing a bikini is perfectly fine at hotel beaches, please be aware that at natural sites like springs, wadis, and public beaches, modest swimwear is required: women should wear leggings and a T-shirt that covers shoulders and knees.

        Modesty is key:

Out of respect for Omani culture and traditions, we kindly ask our guests to dress modestly during all tours. This means covering shoulders and knees for both men and women and avoiding tight or revealing clothing.

Lightweight, layered clothing with light (if possible, waterproof) jackets for cooler mountain areas and surprising rain is recommended.

For mosque visits, women are required to wear long sleeves, long trousers or a skirt, and a headscarf. Men should wear long trousers and avoid sleeveless shirts.

        Safety and Comfort

        • Please always follow the guide’s instructions, especially in slippery or steep areas
        • Guests with limited mobility are more than welcome on these excursions. However, they may not be able to participate in all activities (e.g., walks, swimming at waterfalls, etc.). Please inform us in advance so we can arrange suitable alternative program items.

        Packing Tips

        • Hat and sunscreen (UV can still be strong even on cloudy days).
        • Reusable water bottle (hydration is key, even in cool weather).
        • Waterproof bag or cover for phones and electronics.

        Cultural Considerations

        • Respect local customs, especially during visits to religious or heritage sites.
        • Public displays of affection should be avoided.
        • Always ask before photographing people, especially women.
        • During Ramadan, eating, drinking, or smoking in public during daylight hours should be avoided out of respect.
        • Greetings are warm and respectful — handshakes are common but wait for the other person to offer, especially across genders.

        Punctuality Matters

To ensure a smooth experience and allow enough time to visit all planned sights, we kindly ask all guests to be punctual. Otherwise, short-notice program changes might be necessary.

        Laws & Local Norms

        • Alcohol is only available in licensed venues; public intoxication is illegal.
        • Drugs are strictly forbidden and carry severe penalties.
        • Swearing, rude gestures, or arguing loudly in public can be seen as disrespectful or even punishable by law.

        Language & Hospitality

        • Arabic is the official language, but English is widely spoken, especially in tourism.
        • Omanis are known for their warm hospitality — a smile goes a long way!

        Money Matters

        • The local currency is the Omani Rial (OMR). Credit cards are accepted in many places but carry some cash for small shops and remote areas.
        • Tipping is appreciated but not obligatory: 5–10% is a kind gesture.
